Today we did a rather short trip as we intend to do some hiking. Imagine, we, hiking!!! This tour is full of premiers... The trip to Lyseboten was very nice, a small road in the hills through just a spectacular scenery. And sorry dear readers, as usual, it was so much fun to drive that we almost forgot to stop and make some pictures. The road down to Lyseboten at the Lyssefjord is cool to drive, 27 switchbacks, one even in a tunnel! Today we didn't camp as we plan to go on a hike, we took a cabin, so we can lock our stuff. When we returned, the owner didn't find the key, so I pulled n the door ad it simply opened – so much about security :)
In the afternoon we hiked to that famous rock Kyriakpolten that is almost floating over the fjord. The fascinating thing was that nobody told us it would be a 5 hour hike, with climbing and incredibly steep :) But the views on the way up were just spectacular and worth ever drop of sweat. Of course we had no idea how far it is. We thought it would be about an hour walking or so. So, up a steep cliff it went... then down on the other side in a valley, up the next cliff (now we are there!) and... down a cliff an up the next one, across a few snowfields. But we made it – and you know what? Tomorrow we'll do the next hike :)
Oh and – the weather is still great - still on the rather hot side in the high 20, almost 30 centigrades.
Spectacular pictures! The scenery is wonderful..
